A replacement for the Pathfinder couldn't come along soon enough, with main rival Toyota having released its completely revised 4Runner to a willing public last year. By the looks of the new Dunehawk concept introduced at this year's Frankfurt motor show, the wait for a Pathfinder redo might not be far off at all. Rather than just maintain the 5-seat status quo perpetuated by the 4Runner, Nissan may up the Pathfinder's seating capacity to seven, if this latest concept in any indication.

The Dunehawk is also longer, wider and taller than the current Pathfinder, sitting at about 4.8 m in length, 1.9 mm in width and 2.0 m in height, compared to roughly 4.7 m long, 1.8 m wide and 1.7 m tall for the road going SUV.
